What time do I wake up – 6 am
The first thing I do in the morning – Take my first sip from my one-gallon bottle of water and then a glass of black coffee with lemon. Then, I head to the Ultimate Bodies by Carlos gym, where I train with Melody Melton twice weekly at 7 am. She helps to keep my body and mental health in the best shape they can be.
Breakfast – same thing for years, yogurt with oats, blueberries, figs, nuts, and other good stuff with coffee or tea. Why change if I love it? I eat three meals each day, fewer carbs, more water, and more vegetables.
Best habit – Being positive with people; no one would ever guess I am having a bad day because that is not what I like to present myself to people. Why spoil their day?
Worst habit – I need to give people more time to relax; I like to be everywhere on time and get everything right.
How Covid changed my routine – I worked from home already and just kept doing that. I became a bit of a recluse, so I realized I had to get out and socialize more; it has been a learning experience just getting out of the house again. My home became a sanctuary, my family, and my plants, and I loved it.
Productivity tools – Writing, I am using the Artist’s Way as a guide, so I try to write my three pages almost every day. Lists, I write my week on a prominent artist’s pad that sits on my desk every Sunday. I plan out the week making notes for each day. Then I try to stick to that list every day. It helps me to clear my head on Sunday and try to start the week fresh. I also have my pocket-sized Franklin Planner, I have been using it for over 20 years, and it keeps me grounded. Tech tools, I use Slack and Basecamp for projects and communication. I have a Start Me app in my Chrome browser to keep all of my notes, most important sites, and more with me 24/7. I use the Big Monthly Calendar for primary clients, an annual calendar. I use one per client. I use Teachable for clients and Microsoft OAS for presentations. Motto, as Shaq says. “Keep your head down; keep building.”
Three words to define this new year – Health. Family. Work
The last thing I do at night – Watch a show on my tablet on Prime first (Danish, French, and English series are my favorites) and then read; that gets me to sleep very quickly. Reading became hard the last few years, but I have returned to it, and It feels great. I sketch sometimes, too; that is a treat.
Bed time – 10:00pm
