True economic development isn’t just about resource allocation; it is about investing in human capital. It’s about passing the baton, streamlining operations, and building sustainable marketing and communications frameworks that allow local entrepreneurs to truly scale.
When we talk about strengthening small businesses, we cannot rely on surface-level advice. We have to walk the walk—strengthening our local business infrastructure one thorough, dedicated step at a time.
That is exactly what the last three months have been about.
Today marks the official completion of my 12-week Pittsburgh Yards®- based Our Village United, Inc. Amplify Program cohort. Over the last twelve weeks, I have had the immense pleasure of working hand in hand as a mentor with Barbara Wall, the brilliant visionary behind Enchanted Tea Lounge.

The Strategic Objective: Beyond the Digital Surface
When I step into a mentorship or consulting role, my framework is always audience-first, focusing on where strategy meets execution. For Enchanted Tea Lounge, our objective was clear and actionable:
- Audit the Current Footprint: Taking a deep look at her existing digital presence to find hidden opportunities for growth.
- Establish Foundational Best Practices: Hardwiring sustainable marketing and communications mechanics into the daily routine.
- Build Operational Handoff Blueprints: Designing clear, structural roadmaps to ensure her business is set up to reach even greater heights independently.
As a strategist, I look for speed, clarity, and execution in an operator. Barbara was absolute magic to work with. She is fast, incredibly receptive, and runs an exceptional business that is poised for massive expansion.
Storytelling with Substance: Heritage on the Menu
There is such a deep, beautiful history behind everything Barbara does. Her business isn’t just about selling a high-quality product; it’s rooted in a real story of heritage, community, and passion. Our deep dive into her digital footprint wasn’t just about analytics—it was about ensuring that her incredible story shines clearly through her brand voice so her audience truly feels it.
And the execution on the ground is flawless. Beyond her traditional artisan tea blends, Barbara has successfully introduced a wonderful line of boba teas, and she bakes the most delicious, fresh scones daily.
Moving the Needle Forward
The formal 12-week program is officially wrapped, but Barbara’s growth trajectory is just beginning. This is what a thriving ecosystem looks like: operators, strategists, and community organizations locking arms to create meaningful, real-world results.
A huge thank you to Crystal Chisholm and the team at Our Village United for the opportunity to step into this cohort as a strategic partner and mentor. And to Katina Johnson, as always, thank you very much for the continuous support along the way.
I invite my entire network to support, follow, and experience the premium quality Barbara brings to our community.
