This is the time to make the most out of your social media posts, the holidays. Here are a few tips for great execution and engagement this year.
Mood Boards – Use Mood Boards to highlight your product lines, put together ideas or bundles, or multiple purchases for customers. Use digital platforms to pull your ideas together like Canva or Be Funky
This or That – Ask followers for their input on products and ideas. Readers love being a part of behind-the-scenes decisions.
ABCD – Four options for gifting or for feedback on what they like best or least
Testimonials
Now is the time to remind people how great your services and products are. According to one study, the regular use of customer testimonials can help you generate roughly sixty-two percent more revenue not only from every customer but from every time they visit your brand. Ninety-two percent of people said that they read testimonials when considering a purchase
Story Format – Share or showcase a client, give them a social media boost!
Trends – What’s in this year for the holidays? The latest gadgets and toys. Fashion magazines like Vogue do a great job with holiday trends and buy and let’s not forget Oprah’s Favorite Things List, which this year is highlighting products from women and people of color. I also love the NYT Gift List as well.
Causes that matter – Giving back during the holiday season is important to your business and to your customers and clients. Offer some suggestions on how people can give back to a local charity or a list of charities or organizations that will need help for the holiday season.
Giveaways
If you have not done it before, try one for the holidays, this is the best time of year to do it and if only once a year. Christmas comes but once a year, right?
Behind The Scenes – If you have a tangible product or even if you don’t find a way to show customers how things are done “behind the scenes” People love to know more about your business, your history, failures, and successes. Showing them how it’s done in a transparent way is always helpful to a business.
Hashtags – Remember to use hashtags that are pertinent to your business, some that may be unrelated and general business and holiday hashtags are helpful. Be consistent and disciplined and don’t forget to change them often, using the same ones over and over does not sit well with the algorithms. Be creative, and save your best ones in a handy digital list to copy and paste.
Happy Holidays!
